Does Birch Space work for both US and India employees?

Yes. Birch supports employee records, regional leave policies and holiday calendars for India and the US in one workspace. Time tracking and other features depend on your plan; see the pricing page. US teams retain their payroll provider.

What features are included?

Free covers the people directory, leave and holidays, and documents. Growth adds time tracking and timesheets, rosters, and letters with e-sign. Pro adds India payroll and statutory files (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, Form 16) and appraisals. The pricing page lists each plan in full.

Can I import existing employee data?

You can import historical time entries from CSV and invite people in batches from a CSV of email addresses. There is no self-serve import of complete employee records yet; contact us to discuss moving those records in.

Does Birch Space integrate with payroll systems?

Birch exports approved time as CSV for Gusto, QuickBooks and ADP. These are file exports, not direct provider connections, and Birch does not run US payroll. India teams can prepare payroll inside Birch, including PF, ESIC, PT and TDS workflows.

Where is my data stored?

The Birch app and its database run on Railway, and uploaded documents are stored in Google Cloud Storage. Birch itself does not hold SOC 2 or any other certification yet, and has not had a third-party audit. If you need a specific data location or a security questionnaire answered, contact us.

Can I export my data if I decide to leave?

Yes. The organization owner can open Settings → Data and download an organization export ZIP containing module CSVs and employee documents. Any document that could not be fetched is listed in a missing-files report. Individual modules also offer their own exports.
