Request time off

1. Open Leave and select Request leave (Request on a phone).
2. Choose the Request Type. You'll see the leave types you have, plus unpaid leave (LOP in India).
3. Pick your dates.
4. Choose whether to include weekends.
5. For part days, answer No to full days, then set the hours per day and the start time.
6. Add a reason if asked. Some leave types and countries need one; sick leave doesn't.
7. Submit. Your manager is notified.

Things you might see

• Insufficient Balance: you don't have enough leave. You can tick the box to ask your manager to approve it anyway.
• Short Notice Leave Request: the leave starts soon. You can still submit it, but your manager may decline it or treat it as unpaid.
• Birch blocks a request that overlaps one you've already made.

Change or cancel a request

Open the request from My requests. While it's pending you can edit it, or select Cancel Request. You're notified when it's approved, rejected or cancelled.
