Set up public holidays

Open More → Holidays. Everyone in your company can see this page; only the Owner and HR Admins can change it.

National holidays

Holidays marked National come from Birch's US and India calendars. Every company sees them, and they can't be edited or deleted. To change one for your company, add your own holiday on the same date and region: it replaces the national one for you.

Add a company holiday

1. Select Add Holiday.
2. Enter the Holiday Name and Date, and choose the Region.
3. Tick Optional holiday for floating or restricted holidays that people can choose to take.
4. Add a description if you like, and save.

Seed a year of holidays

Seed copies a list of holidays for the region you pick (or both) into your company calendar so you can edit them. For India in 2026 and 2027 it uses the Government of India gazetted list; Holi, Ram Navami and Janmashtami come in as optional, because each state picks its own. Eid and Muharram dates depend on the moon and can move by a day, and your state may observe different festivals, so check the list afterwards. For other years, India gets only the fixed national days; add festivals yourself.

Use the year and region filters to review the calendar. Holidays also show on the roster.
