End someone's employment

1. Open Admin → Employees, open the ⋯ menu on the person's row and select Terminate. You can also use Terminate on their profile.
2. Choose the Exit Type (for example Voluntary Resignation, Layoff, Retirement or Contract End) and whether they're eligible for rehire.
3. Enter the Last Working Day and Termination Date, and an exit reason and internal notes if you want.
4. Choose what Birch should do:
   • Notify Employee, Notify HR and Notify Manager.
   • Revoke System Access: signs them out everywhere and stops them signing in again.
   • Cancel Pending Leave.
5. On the confirm step, check the list of what happens automatically, type TERMINATE and confirm.

Birch also moves their direct reports to their manager, ends any active clock session, cancels future shifts and closes draft timesheets.
